Recover Or Reset Ur Windows Pwd Using Ubuntu

Forgot your Windows password? No worries! As i ALready Posted about KEN BOOT This one also would be Usefull One for You.... All you need is to have a Live CD of Ubuntu-Linux whose free shipment is available any where in the world. Here is a brief guide on how to reset windows password with ubuntu




1-Insert Live CD and restart PC (Be sure to change BIOS 1st primary device setting to CD-ROM)


2-Go to Synaptic Packet manager->settings->repositories->ubuntu software and check ‘Software restricted by copyright or legal issues (multiverse)’


3-Go to Application->Terminal and install Chntpw using following command
sudo apt-get install chntpw



4-Mount your “Windows installed” device
sudo mkdir /media/WINDOWS
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /media/WINDOWS
where /dev/sda1 is 1st partition windows location in ubuntu.


5-Goto your Windows system configuration folder Located at [WINDOWS_DEVICE]/WINDOWS/system32/config/:
cd /media/WINDOWS/WINDOWS/system32/config/


6-Crack SAM by entering following in terminal
chntpw SAM

7- Enter choice 1 to reset windows password.
8-UR Done..
